Abu Dhabi set to become holiday home hotspot

Increased supply could see Abu Dhabi become the most sought-after holiday home destination in the United Arab Emirates.

Abu Dhabi could soon become the most sought-after destination in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for holiday home insurance.

Currently Dubai is the most popular choice for overseas property hunters, but an increase in supply may see Abu Dhabi become the destination of choice.

According to Better Homes, prices are lower in the emirate and there are a growing number of people looking to move to high-quality yet still affordable properties.

"There are a number of Abu Dhabi residential projects in the pipeline... once released [these] will give clients a broader variety of offerings, leading to more competitive pricing," said Better Homes operations manager Loshini Lawrence.

The abundant wealth of the UAE will ensure that people are constantly looking to move there to seek employment and investment opportunities.

Prices in the region have fallen in the past 18 months, according to figures from Asteco.
