Who are Intasure?

Intasure ® is a trading name of Arthur J. Gallagher Insurance Brokers Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Registered Office: Spectrum Building, 7th Floor, 55 Blythswood Street, Glasgow, G2 7AT. Registered in Scotland. Company Number: SC108909. We have been trading since 2004 and our products are underwritten by various Underwriters.

No, we are not a broker, our Intasure branded products have been specially designed to cover a wide range of business types.

Where are you based?

Answer
We have a number of locations based in the United Kingdom. When dealing with us, your call will be handled within the United Kingdom.

Can we speak on the telephone?

Answer
Very much so, and we are open evenings and weekends as well. We have a sophisticated telephone answering service. Our call back facility is designed so as you can book a call and we will make contact at a time of your convenience or even immediately if required.

Can you insure individuals as well as companies?

Yes - our policies are designed to meet the demands and needs of individuals and companies alike.

Do you cover my business type?

Answer
Whatever your business, there is a very good chance we can assist you. We have over 350 recognised trades and occupations on our acceptance list. We are used to being able to quote for unusual occupations or situations. Please call our office or email us and we will do our best to assist.

What types of risks do you cover?

Answer
All the usual ones you would expect to see covered under a business insurance policy. Full details are contained within your policy document and we are happy to discuss any aspect of your cover at any time. Simply call our office or email us and we will be happy to assist.

How long will it take to obtain a quotation?

Answer
That very much depends on your business type but our staff has full authority to quote and provide cover on over 350 trades & occupations. You can be sure we will do our best to provide your quotation as quickly as possible.

Can I have immediate cover?

Answer
In the vast majority of cases, the answer is yes.

What information will you require?

Answer

Because of the very diverse nature of businesses we can insure, the amount of information we will require to offer you a quotation will vary. Rest assured though, we will only ask you for information if it is pertinent and necessary in providing an accurate quotation.

Do you offer discounts?

Answer

Yes - our policy rating will reward a business with a good claims record.

How can I reduce my premium further?

Answer

Have a chat with our sales team, in some cases, we may be able to offer you a reduction in the premium in return for an increased policy excess (the first portion of the loss you are responsible for paying).

Do you accept monthly payments?

Answer

Yes- you will have the option to pay for your policy in one lump sum or by monthly direct debits.

How long will my quote be valid for?

Answer

This will be stated on our quotation offer and is subject to there being no material change in the underwriting information you have provided.

What are the taxes and other charges applied to my quote?

Answer
The taxes are for Insurance premium tax in the UK or the taxes applicable to the country we are insuring in if outside the UK. The other charges are to cover our administration costs as we have no charges for cancelling, making administrative changes to the policy or payment methods, this way we are completely upfront about our costs and there are no hidden charges.

What periods of cover do you offer?

Answer

Unless otherwise stated, we offer our policies for 12 monthly periods. 21 days prior to the end of your contract, we will make contact with you regarding renewal of the policy.

When can I expect to receive my policy documents?

Answer

We are able to provide confirmation of cover and policy booklets quickly and in most cases by email. We are used to working to deadlines to produce documents and pride ourselves on our quick delivery of all essential information.

What if I change my mind?

Answer

Unless otherwise stated, all of our policies come with a cooling off period, full details will be provided. Any requests for cancellation must be sent to us in writing.

How can I make a claim?

Answer

Full instructions on how to make a claim are contained within your policy document; we have a 24 hour dedicated claims telephone number for you to report incidents on.

What if I need assistance after I have purchased my policy?

Answer

That’s no problem at all, simply contact our administration team. Often, throughout the year, policyholders contact us to make alterations such as; increases to the sums insured or to add or delete premises or on the acquisition of new contents or machinery. You’ll find our team to be very helpful. You can expect the same quality service from us throughout the lifetime of your business insurance policy.

Can I have other peoples interests noted on my policy?

Answer
Yes- we often find, especially with commercial building insurances, that a bank or lenders name needs to be noted on the policy schedule. Just give us your requirements when you buy your policy or call us at any time if the interests change or need to be updated.

Do you cover a start up business?

Answer

Yes- we are happy to assist with new ventures. Many businesses needing insurance for the first time require a little help and guidance as to what types of insurances are available, especially those insurances that are required to enable a company to comply with any relevant laws. We are happy to discuss this with you and point out the various options available.

Can I have all my covers under one policy?

Answer

In many cases- yes, we offer package insurance policies with a number of sections covering loss or damage and liabilities. In some cases, particularly if you require a specialist cover such as “Professional Indemnity Insurance”, we may have to issue more than one policy document.

What if I have multiple premises?

Answer

No problem at all, we can cover them under the one policy document with a common renewal date. You can add and delete premises throughout the year if required.

I’m not sure what I want or what category I fall under?

Answer

Don’t worry about that, simply call our office and we can have a discussion, we are experts and will be able to help identify your needs and recommend a suitable product.

Can I just insure for my liabilities?

Answer

Yes you can, we can offer stand-alone liability insurance policies without the need to take out a full business insurance package contract. This is ideal for self-employed persons operating without premises.

I own a property with a residential flat above, can you help?

Answer

Yes - subject to underwriting we can. If for example you own a building with commercial usage downstairs and a residential flat above, we can provide cover for the building and landlord’s contents. On some of our policies, owners and staffs belongings can be covered as well. Generally speaking though, any tenant within your property will be responsible for insuring their own belongings.

Do you include cover for shop front glass?

Answer

Yes - we include cover for glass and damage to your shop frontage. We also include signs and blinds.

Can I protect myself against loss of Income?

Answer

You can help protect yourself against loss of income or business interruption following an insured event occurring at your premises. We will be happy to explain to you how this cover operates and the basis on which any claims will be paid.

What if I need to increase my Public Liability indemnity limit - Is this possible?

Answer

Yes - this is possible, we often find that tradespersons are asked to obtain a higher indemnity limit by some employers. We do have maximum limits we can insure up to; please call our office to discuss.

I work from home - Can you still provide business insurance?

Answer
